LYKOS™

LYKOS™ is a system conceived to sale electronic instant games based on tickets creation on the central system. The tickets when generated are grouped in books of a specific game and price level, and then, books are grouped in series. The books are distributed to the site systems based on the game sale requirements keeping books stock. The tickets are distributed one by one among the gaming terminals on demand.

LYKOS™ is a complete solution for Electronic Instant Lottery or Scratch Lottery. It provides virtual tickets with no paper support. The system manages pre-drawn games (No fortune or based on the player skills), in which the player participates by acquiring a ticket. The ticket has been pre-assigned, and the player discovers his prize by scratching (uncovering) the ticket.

Prizes are randomly assigned but evenly distributed among the tickets. While selling, winning tickets are randomly distributed. Prizes are not known in advance until a ticket is already assigned to a player during the selling transaction. At the moment a player “buys” a ticket, the system knows the amount of the prize granted to it.

LYKOS™ - Lottery Kiosk Online System – is the integrated system for the management of Electronic Instant Lottery tickets. The system is developed for AS (Agency server) architecture.

Architecture

The LYKOS™ operates as a stand-alone gaming engine, for Instant Bet Gaming and can also be deployed in conjunction with the MultiGame™ System for a combined scheme.

The Lottery Kiosk network system architecture is composed of:

  • Central System – This is the main component of the system. It supervises and serves the configured retailers, as well as offers the suitable platform to configure and operate the virtual instant ticket games.
  • Communication network – This system element provides the transport of data between the Central System and the retailers.
  • Retailers/Agencies – Commercial retailers or agencies ate the sites in which the Lottery kiosks are located. The basic equipment for each site is composed of:
    • Lottery kiosks agency server (one) is the middleman entity in the LYKOS™ scheme. It is a special console that manages the local operation, composed by Software and Hardware that concentrates, controls, and manages the operation of Kiosk Terminals. This console is only accessible by the Agency manager/operator and is not suitable for playing or selling instant games tickets.
    • Lottery kiosk terminal is the end-user device, operated directly by clients. It purports a graphical touch-screen interface, and accepts money bills or a Smart Card as payment method.

The following diagram details the system architecture:

Network

Communication Network

The communications module is the connecting link between the Central System and Agency Servers. It provides the necessary link between the center and its distributed nodes. The network may work in one of two modes, or a combination of them:

  1. Online mode: The agencies are connected all the time.
  2. Batch mode: The center opens a connection to each agency, as the need arises. The agencies themselves function in batch mode, and need only communicate with the center at specific times to transmit/receive data.
